Demolition, site work, paving, renovation and addition to a mixed-use development in Madison, Georgia. Working plans call for the addition of a fire / police facility; for the demolition of a fire / police facility; for the renovation of a fire / police facility; for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; and for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot.

As of 6/15/22 project was cancelled due to lack of funding. No additional information at this time. DPS is seeking a licensed General Contractor for an expansion of an existing building for a new communications office, bathroom, IT, and storage closest. The area will be 20 x 42, with a 5 x 5 concrete pad for the exterior door and a 4 x 60 concrete sidewalk (all 3000 psi). The concrete masonry unit to match existing building. The fascia to match existing building. Roofing will be 25-year Architectural shingle to match existing building, seamless connection to existing building. Includes installation of a new 2.5-ton HVAC system and 2 TON ductless split system for IT closet. The builder is responsible for obtaining all necessary permits. The contractor shall provide all equipment, tools, labor, supervision, permits, & other necessary things to complete the building expansion. The work will take place at DPS GA State Patrol Post 8: 1060 Monticello Road, Madison, Georgia 30650. The work to be performed during normal business hours (Monday Friday 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.) Expansion of existing building for new communications office, bathroom, IT, and storage closet. Submittals: a. Plumbing b. Mechanical c. Flooring d. Electrical e. Finishes 1. Plans and Permits: Supply permit ready plans and required copies for review for County approval. Plans include a full set of construction drawings, including Civil/Site, Erosion Control &Landscaping, Structural, Architectural, Fire Protection, MEP Plans complying with all codes, and regulations of the appropriate jurisdictions as required for the necessary building and health department permits. Field confirmation of elevations to ensure grading around the building drains properly. Design of all required grading, storm drainage, water quality and storm water detention. 2. Concrete Slab & Foundation: Supply and place new 20' x 42' concrete slab and footings for proposed building addition per plans. Supply and place new 5x5 concrete pad for exterior door Supply and place new concrete sidewalk 4' x 60' connecting new pad to existing parking lot Concrete slab shall be 3000 PSI; Footings - 3000 PSI 3. Masonry: Supply and install 8" CMU w/ #4 rebar(vert.) @ 48" O.C. in filled cell CMU to match existing building Supply all mortar and reinforcement per IBC guidelines Install and grout fill all door frames and bond beams Supply and install Bond Beam w/ (2) #5 on bottom 4. Roofing: Supply & install new 25-year Architectural Shingle roof for new addition Supply & install new gutters and downspouts for building expansion 5. Openings: Furnish and Install 2 new fixed 9/0 x 3/0 aluminum windows in locations shown on plans Windows to be Traco NX-280 non-operable or approved equal Windows to have a 30% tint film Relocate existing exterior door to new location for expansion and install an interior door in its place Supply and install new interior doors & frames per door schedule o Doors to be 3'0" x 6'8" Solid Core Birch o Hollow Metal Frames o Provide and Install Cal-Royal lever locksets SL Design series or approved equal o Cores to be provided and installed by the owner o Supply and Install concave wall bumpers for each new door 6. Exterior Framing: Demo existing side entrance gable, columns, and roof. Supply and install wood framing for roof to tie into the existing building. o Demo existing roof as needed to complete seamless connection o Replace rotten wood on existing gable. o Supply and install new fascia and soffit to match existing building. Furnish and install new 3 5/8" metal stud framing and 5/8" GWB on all interior walls with a level 4 finish and prep for pain per pans. o Supply and install sound attenuation blankets in all walls. Furnish and install new 2' x 2' ceiling tile and grid in entire area show on plans. o Ceiling tile to be Armstrong Cortega 770 or approved equal by DPS. o Ceiling height is 9'0". 7. Flooring and Tiling: Furnish and install new 2x2 carpet tiles and 4" rubber base in comms area. Furnish and install new LVT and 4" rubber base in bathroom, office, storage, and IT areas. 8. Coatings: Prep all applicable surfaces prior to painting. Fill nail holes, scrape frames, remove flaking paint. Prepare exposed surfaces according to manufacturer's recommendations. Properly protect all equipment, light fixtures, sprinkler heads, heaters, flooring, and furniture from overspray or spilled paint. Paint all interior walls and trim shown in floor plans with (1) Coat Primer and (2) coats of paint per plans. o Ceiling height is 9'0" Stain all new wood doors with 1 coat of stain and 3 coats of polyurethane. 9. Specialties: o Furnish and install following accessories: o Toilet paper dispenser o Toilet seat cover o 24x36 mirror o ADA grab bars 10. Fire Protection: No Fire protection is currently included in this Scope of Work. 11. Plumbing: Supply and install the following plumbing fixtures per plans: o One (1) vanity cabinet with built in sink & faucet o One (1) water closet Supply and install new drainage and water supply connections for new restroom o Connect to water supply in existing building o Excavate new trench to make new drain connections to existing sewer o Backfill plumbing trenches 12. Mechanical: Supply and install new 2.5 TON HVAC system for the new expansion to include supply and return registers, thermostat, and duct work. Supply and install new 2 TON ductless split system for the IT closet, exclusively Supply and install new supply and return registers throughout work area per plans Supply and install exhaust fan in restroom. 13. Electrical: Supply and install new 2x2 LED lights per plans o Lights will need to be installed with dimming capabilities o Use CREE22 or approved equal Relocate 3 exterior lights on new expansion Furnish and install new receptacles and switches for expansion area o Quad receptacles every 6' on back wall, then duplex receptacle every 6' after that o 1 GFCI receptacle per bathroom Relocate exit sign in existing building into expansion area for new exit door Supply and install smoke / CO2 combo detector in expansion Supply and install new CAT6 data drops for expansion area 14. Site Work: Demo existing concrete sidewalk and landing for side entrance Supply and install suitable soils/fill needed to grade building expansion area o Soil Compactions inspections will be required prior to any concrete placement. GPR service to locate existing utilities within the property limits prior to starting construction. As well as calling Georgia 811 Utilities Protection Center. Supply and Install Erosion Control measurement for the entire length of the project. Grade area for building expansion and provide fill dirt to make level for concreteo foundation o All areas to be compacted to 98% Contractor must complete and have notarized the GA Security and Immigration Affidavit (e-verify) and any subcontractors. Contractors must provide proof of liability insurance with DPS as the certificate holder. Performance and Payment bonds in the amount equal to the bid are required. They must be received within 10 days of Notice of Award. Make sure you are registered with the Department of Revenue and are current with any tax payments as this is part of being a responsible supplier to be awarded a bid. Suppliers must also be registered with the GA Secretary of State Office
