Every two years, the Water Systems Division competitively tenders the GAC Filter Media Replacement contract to seek qualified Contractors to carry out the work. The scope includes removal and disposal of the existing granular activated carbon (GAC) filter media and placement of new media within the two dual media filter cells at the Brockville Water Treatment Plant. Note that one of two filters must remain in operation at all times, and work must be scheduled and carried out in a manner which allows the treatment processes to remain online at all times. Disposal or recycling of existing materials must be conducted through an approved facility.
