As of July 11, 2022, project has not been awarded. It is expected to be awarded on the July 18th meeting of the City. The work to be done under this contract consists, in general, of furnishing all labor, materials, tools, equipment, incidentals, and for doing all work necessary for removal of the existing damaged spillway materials, construction of a new spillway, erosion control and revegetation, as well as other items and details not mentioned above but described in these Special Provisions or shown on the Plans or Contract Documents or as designated by the engineer Award of this contract requires a valid California contractor's license with the classification identified above. ESTIMATED CONSTRUCTION COST: $440,944 Due to the extensive environmental permitting of this Project the construction window is July 18, 2022 to October 15, 2022. Interested contractors must be able to meet this Project completion schedule. Each bid must be submitted on the bid forms provided in the Contract Documents. Each bid must also be accompanied by security in the form of a bid bond issued by a corporate surety, a certified check or cashier's check payable to the City of Rancho Cordova, or cash for an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the aggregate sum of the bid. The successful bidder shall be required to execute a Material and Labor Payment Bond and Performance Bond, issued by a corporate surety, acceptable to the City of Rancho Cordova, each for not less than one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price. This is a Public Works construction project in accordance with Section 1771.5 of the California Labor Code. Pursuant to California Labor Code Section 1720 and following, and Section 1770 and following, the successful bidder shall pay not less than the prevailing rate of per diem wages as determined by the Director of the California Department of Industrial Relations. Copies of the prevailing wage determinations are on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City Council of the City of Rancho Cordova, 2729 Prospect Park Drive, Rancho Cordova, California 95670, and are available upon request. The prevailing wage determinations are also available on the internet Pursuant to California Contract Code Section 22300, the contractor may, at its own expense, substitute securities for any money being withheld by the City of Rancho Cordova to ensure performance under this contract. The award of the contract, if it be awarded, will be to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder whose bid complies with all the requirements prescribed. The lowest bid will be determined based on Base Bid. The City of Rancho Cordova reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any informality in any bid, and to determine which bid, in their judgment, is the lowest responsive bid of a responsible bidder. Time for completion of the work is 25 working days from the date of issuance as stated in the Notice to Proceed by the City Contractor shall provide two (2) working days notice to the Project Manager if they would like to stop nuisance flows or dry weather flows from the outfall storm drain pipes during work for up to 1 hour. Contractor may use sand, gravel bags or other approved method to temporarily stop the flow. Any time extensions will require City inspection or approval.
