*The previous solicitation is listed below for reference. The Farbar Building is the oldest active building on campus that has not had significant renovation. While minor investment has kept the building operating for 60 years, a comprehensive renovation is needed to address deferred maintenance and ensure effective function into the future. The building is occupied by the campus Access office, which provides a broad and growing array of important academic support services. The proposed reconfiguration of original small exam rooms will provide more functionally appropriate and effective administrative office, instructional and academic support spaces. The Access office is critical to ensuring that all students have access to required individual support services and materials. Key services provided are proctored testing for students eligible for accommodations and a distraction-reduced environment and/or extended time; video captioning and transcription services; sign language interpreters to assist hearing impaired students and faculty, and accessibility coordinators. These resources have proven instrumental in assuring that all students could effectively access academic instruction and learning. The project will incorporate the requirements of the Energy Efficiency & Sustainable Construction Act of 2008 (O.C.G.A. 50-8-18) and it is the desire of the Owner to incorporate sustainable design and construction concepts in the project where feasible to do so. Further, Georgia Peach certification is required with commissioning. The preliminary Stated Cost Limitation (SCL) or construction cost of the Project is estimated at $1,400,000. The final SCL may be revised by the Owner due to final programmatic requirements, funding availability or other circumstances.
