Q & A deadline: Aug 01, 2022 8:00:00 AM EDT SCOPE OF WORK: -Utilizing photography, document the existing conditions and layout of stone to ensure reconstruction matched the original dimensions and appearance. -Removal of iron fencing below entrance gate and salvage for reuse. -Carefully disassemble the horizontal assembly spanning the stone columns. -Clean mortar from stone and palletize all stone and store for reuse. -Clean 100% of the stone column masonry utilizing cleaning agents designed for historic limestone and granite. ProSoCo is a preferred manufacturer of these cleaners. -Fabricate and install new lintel constructed with 2-W16x45 beams with a ½” thick plate on the bottom. -Prior to installation of the new lintel, prime with epoxy primer and finish paint with urethane finish. Tnemec is a preferred manufacturer of this paint system. -Mortar shall be custom matched new Type N mortar to existing cleaned mortar on columns. Matching is the responsibility of the contractor. -Layup salvaged stone across new lintel matching original dimensions and layout. Install rope weeps to carry water from lintel exiting the east and west faces of the lintel. Careful attention should be given to ensure the new construction matches the original. Ensure joint profiles match surrounding original joint profiles. -Repoint remaining deteriorated joints at masonry columns (Approximately 5%) with custom matched Type N mortar profile. -Clean 100% of the new horizontal stone structure utilizing cleaning agents designed for historic limestone and granite. ProSoCo is a preferred manufacturer of these cleaners. -Repair, reinstall, and repaint iron fencing removed at the beginning of the project. -Daily clean-up of any construction related debris. -Payment/performance bond will be required.
