Renovation of an educational facility in Rochester, New York. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
It is the intent of The State University of New York College at Brockport to hire a consultant to provide design services for window replacement at the Rochester Educational Opportunity Center. The originally installed insulated glass windows dating from 1980 at the downtown REOC building are exhibiting signs of failure and distress. Gaskets around the windows are failing, shrinking and becoming brittle due to age. Insulated glass panels have lost their seal and their insulating properties. This building was purchased from a commercial owner and renovated for use as the new home of REOC in 2016. At that time the existing windows were not replaced due to budget constraints. Window failure is expected to accelerate in the near future. For energy conservation, all ribbon windows should be replaced with modern insulated glass windows with a similar look. The services indicated below shall include, but not be limited to the following: Removal and replacement of the existing exterior ribbon glazing system throughout the entire building envelope. Remove and replace the main entry doors.
