The County of Galveston Requests Proposals From Qualified Contractors for Debris Management Services. Debris Generated Events May Include, but Not Be Limited to Hurricanes, Tornados, Ice Storms, Hail Storms and Catastrophic Fire and Explosions. Debris as Used in This Document Is Defined as That Descried in the Federal Emergency Management Agency (Fema) Public Assistance Debris Management Guide (Fema-325), Page Iii. Services May Include, but Not Be Limited to, Large-scale Debris Removal, Separation, Storage, Processing and Disposal; Demolition and Demolition Debris Removal, Hazardous Waste Handling, Tree Trimming, Stump Grinding and Removal, Marine Salvage Operations, Waterway Debris Clearing, Sand Removal From Roads, Streets and Rights-of-way, Project Management Assistance, and Assistance With Federal and State Reporting and Reimbursement Efforts. Bonding Requirements: obid Guarantee: Evidencing Its Firm Commitment to Engage in the Contract if Bidder Is Selected for Award of Contract, Each Bidder Is Required to Furnish With Their Proposal a Cashier's Check, or an Acceptable Bidder's Bond, in the Amount of Five Percent (5%) of the Total Contract Price. The Bidder's Bond Must Be Executed With a Surety Company Authorized to Do Business in the State of Texas. Failure to Furnish the Bid/proposal Guarantee in the Proper Form and Amount, by the Time Set for Opening of Bids May Be Cause or Rejection of the Proposal. operformance and Payment Bonds: Successful Bidder, Before Beginning Work, Shall Execute a Performance Bond and a Payment Bond, Each of Which Must Be in the Amount of the Contract. The Required Payment and Performance Bonds Must Each Be Executed by a Corporate Surety in Accordance With Section 1, Chapter 87, Acts of the 56th Legislature, Regular Session, 1959 (Article 7.19-1, Vernon's Texas Insurance Code). The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
