This project involves the removal and/or replacement of existing, missing or faded Traffic Striping, Markings and/or Symbols, Painting on top and side of curb, Striping beside fire hydrants and the application of new Traffic Striping, Markings and/or Symbols, on various streets within the City of Jersey City. This project includes both routine maintenance and reconfiguration of roadway cross sections for improvements including, but not limited to, lane removal, addition, and bike lane installation. Projects involving reconfiguration of roadway cross sections for bike lane installation will have the potential for a performance based bonus detailed under "Schedule of Prices". The Engineer will direct the contractor as to where the work will be performed and will guarantee at least a day's worth of work. The contractor shall be responsible for all necessary maintenance and protection of traffic during construction. The cost of Mobilization and traffic control shall be included in the bid prices. Work will only be performed when the weather conditions are conducive to thermoplastic application (ambient and substrate temperature 40 degrees Fahrenheit and rising, for at least 6 hours after application). Questions by prospective bidders concerning this bid must be done on-line Bidders are required to comply with the requirements of N.J.S.A. 10:5-31 et seq. and N.J.A.C. 17:27. Bidders are also required to comply with the requirements of P.L. 2004, c.57 (N.J.S.A. 52:32-44) which includes the requirement that contractors provide copies of their Business Registration Certificates issued by the New Jersey Department of the Treasury as well as other provisions as listed in the Contract Documents. Proposals MUST BE ACCOMPANIED by a Bid Bond or Certified Check, made payable to the City of Jersey City, in an amount equal to Ten (10%) percent of the Bid.
