Renovation of a municipal facility in Kenansville, North Carolina. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.
All bidders are hereby notified that they must hold proper license under the state laws governing their trades. Each proposal shall be accompanied by a cash deposit or a certified check drawn on a bank or trust company insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation of an amount equal to not less than five percent (5%) of the proposal, or in lieu thereof a bidder may offer a bid bond by a company authorized to do business in North Carolina, and said bond shall be conditioned that the surety will upon failure to forthwith make payment to the oblige upon said bond if bidder fails to execute the contract in accordance with the bid bond and upon failure to forthwith make payment the surety shall pay to the oblige an amount equal to double the amount of said bond. Said bond shall be retained by the owner of liquidated damages in event of failure of the successful bidder to execute the contract within ten (10) days after the award of to give satisfactory surety as required by law in NSCS C 143, Article 8, S129. Bidders are hereby notified that they will be required to meet the requirements established by the Duplin County with regard to Minority/Women Business Enterprises (MWBE) participation pursuant to NCGS 143-128. Bidders shall not add any conditions or qualifying statements to the bids or otherwise change the specifications in any other manner or the bid may be declared irregular as being not responsive to the bid specifications. No bid may be withdrawn after the scheduled closing time of receipt of bid for a period of thirty (30) days. The owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive all informalities.
