The Tifton Housing Authority (THA) is pleased to announce a Request for Proposal (RFP) for Technical Assistance for development/redevelopment of public and affordable housing units. The purpose of this Request for Proposal is to provide a fair evaluation for all candidates and to provide the candidates with the evaluation criteria used to judge the proposals. Questions and proposals may be emailed to sclark@tiftonhousing.org. The Tifton Housing Authority expects to award the contract no later than July 15, 2022. The contract period is expected to last 3 years and must include an option to renew for an additional 2 years. The contract period may vary depending on service needs at the sole discretion of the Tifton Housing Authority. The purpose of the technical assistance is to develop and/or redevelop both public housing units located in the City of Tifton. The Tifton Housing Authority Board is seeking assistance in determining the best course of action to preserve and develop public and affordable housing. The successful company or individual must be prepared to work with the City of Tifton, the Tifton Urban Redevelopment Agency, and many other local partners. Individuals or companies submitting proposals must meet the following criteria: Must have a history working with small public housing authorities. Must have worked on development and rehabilitation of public housing in rural/suburban areas. Must demonstrate the ability to recruit and solicit grant writers and public housing authority consultants. Must have development experience with PHA partners. Must have HUD mixed income development experience. Must demonstrate the ability to work with small housing authorities to obtain funding from various sources. The method of contractor selection has not been determined at this time.
