Installation of Speed Humps on Cammie St (4), Clinton Rd (4), and Faison Rd (2); remove and install on Oxford Dr (2); remove and restore on Swarthmore Rd (1); remove Speed Humps and install Speed Cushions on Swarthmore Rd (3); and install Raised Pedestrian Crosswalk on E. Lawson St (1) in Durham, NC The City of Durham Department of Transportation is requesting bids for the project described above. This project consists of the installation of 12 Speed Humps, 3 Speed Cushions, 1 Raised Pedestrian Crosswalk, and removal of 6 speed humps at various locations throughout the City of Durham. Each bidder must be licensed under Chapter 87 of the North Carolina General Statutes. The City of Durham reserves the right to reject any or all of the bids. All bids must include a non-collusion affidavit. This project shall conform to the North Carolina Department of Transportation Standard Specifications for Roads and Structures, January 2018 and any addendum. The completion date is 60 calendar days from the date of Notice to Proceed. No additional contract time will be added due to inclement weather. The Contractor shall furnish all materials and equipment needed to install the necessary improvements. Liquidated damages for this project are $500.00 per calendar day for failure to complete this project by the completion date. No bid shall be considered or accepted unless at the time of its filing the same shall be accompanied by a deposit of cash or a certified or cashier's check drawn from a bank or trust company insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the amount of the bid. The check shall be made payable to the City of Durham. Said deposit shall guarantee that the contract will be entered into by the successful bidder if the award is made. Such deposit of cash or certified or cashier's check may be held by the City until the successful bidder has executed and delivered the contract documents, including performance and payment bond, to the City of Durham and returned or kept in accordance with North Carolina General Statute 143-129.
