Vancouver Island University seeks a capable and experienced service provider for snow removal and ice control services at the time of severe weather conditions on a priority basis to all its required locations. Known as a centre of excellence for teaching, applied research and learning, Vancouver Island University (VIU), is a public post-secondary institution with roots that date back to 1936 when Nanaimo's first vocational training school opened its doors. VIU shares a rich history and connectedness with its communities. VIU is a dynamic, internationally known University supporting a student population in excess of 16,000 full-time and part-time learners, including over 1,800 international students, 1,500 aboriginal students, and employing over 2,000 faculty and staff. VIU operates three campuses including a main campus in Nanaimo and regional campuses in Duncan, Powell River. VIU also operates a centre in Parksville/Qualicum and is also the proud owner of Milner Gardens and Woodland in Qualicum Beach, recently named one of the top 10 public gardens in Canada. Offering programs from basic literacy to vocational programs, trades, undergraduate and graduate degrees, VIU encourages all students to explore their potential, discover more about their world, and excel in both life and learning The purpose of this Negotiated Request for Proposal (the "NRFP") is to solicit proposals for snow removal and ice control services for multiple locations and sites of Vancouver Island University (VIU). Further details as to the scope of this opportunity and the requirements can be found in Section D of this NRFP. Proponents should divide their responses into appropriately sized (smaller than 8 MB) numbered files, if applicable. Email submissions will not be opened until after the Closing Time. The Proponent has sole responsibility for the timely submission of their proposal. Due to the vagaries of electronic transmissions, the University shall not be responsible for failure to receive or properly download any questions sent via email for any reason or cause. If the Proponent does not receive a timely response to a question/inquiry, it is the responsibility of the Proponent to follow up with the University to confirm receipt of the question/inquiry. Proposals will not be publicly opened.Any proposal received after the Closing Time will not be accepted or evaluated. The Proponent has sole responsibility for the timely submission of their proposal. The time stamp of VIU's Procurement and Contract Services Department shall be the official time for receipt of the proposal. All proposals received as a result of this NRFP shall become the property of VIU. Proposed pricing should be submitted in a separate document file from the NRFP response file. Questions related to this NRFP, including any requests for information or clarification may only be directed to the NRFP Contact via e-mail at bidding@viu.ca by the due date identified in the NRFP schedule (Section C.2.7). Inquiries submitted after this date and time may not be responded to. Emails should be submitted in the following format: a) Email Subject Line: Include the NRFP # and Project Name b) Email Body/Contents: Include the following o Your question(s), clarification, inquiry o Reference to the corresponding NRFP section(s) if applicable o Company name o Name and title of contact person o Phone, mobile phone, and e-mail of contact person Due to the vagaries of electronic transmissions, the University shall not be responsible for failure to receive or properly download any questions sent via email for any reason or cause.
