Project Work Will Include Safeguarding Six Adits and Four Shafts. These Hazardous Mine Features Will Be Safeguarded Using Closure Methods Which Include Bat Grated Corrugated Steel Pipes in Native Rock and Concrete Bulkheads, Backfills, and Polyurethane Foam Plugs. All Backfilled Features Will Use Material Sourced on Site for Fill. All Bat Grated Csps Will Be Fabricated Prior to Mobilizing Them to the Mine Sites. All Construction Material and Equipment Will Be Delivered to the Hazardous Mine Features on Foot or With the Assistance of Pack Animals. The project is located in the five miles into the Raggeds Wilderness, west of the town of Crested Butte, Colorado, in Democrat Basin. Democrat Basin is accessed by the Oh-Be-Joyful hiking trail. The Oh-BeJoyful trailhead is located six miles west of Crested Butte at the Oh-Be-Joyful Campground along Slate River Road CR 734. Mechanized access is not allowed in wilderness. See Attached Maps. The time of completion allowed for the project is (60) calendar days after receipt of the Notice to Proceed.
