Managed the construction at least one microtunneling project with a construction cost of at least $1 million. Construction cost shall be the actual amount paid to the subcontractor performing the microtunneling work. The City is using this Request for Qualifications process to qualify microtunneling contractors, to participate as a subcontractor for this project. All work pertaining to the installation of the steel casing by MTBM shall be performed by a microtunneling subcontractor qualified through this RFQ process. Qualified microtunneling subcontractors can be included on one or multiple prime contractor's bids for the work. The City of Venice ("City") extends this Request for Qualifications ("RFQ") to request a Statement of Qualifications ("SOQ") from interested microtunneling contractors (the "Applicants") to be deemed qualified to participate as subcontractor performing all pipeline installation by microtunneling methods for the Second Force Main Under I-75 Project. The project involves the installation of approximately 1,800 linear feet (LF) of 24-inch diameter wastewater force main. The proposed force main will improve system redundancy and enable the City to convey additional flow from new development. This project includes two (2) trenchless crossings of the northbound and southbound lane of Interstate 75 (I-75). The two trenchless crossings are approximately 220 feet long each. A steel casing installed by microtunnel boring machine (MTBM) is specified for this project. A range of steel casing diameters, minimum of 42 inches and a maximum of 60 inches, have been permitted by the Florida Department of Transportation for these crossings. Casing and MTBM size to be selected by the contractor. The final day for questions and the due date for the Statement of Qualifications have been changed.
