This project entails the tear-off of a deteriorated metal panel roof system from an existing metal building and the installation of a new coated steel panel roofing system TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS The Office/Lab Building at Klingerstown, PA is a two-story metal structure with a footprint of approximately 2,460 square feet (see Attachment 1- North and South Elevations and Attachment 2- Building Photos). The existing roofing system consists of metal panels secured to a metal truss system with six 2'x10' translucent panels and two 4" throat x 10' long ridge type vent/screens as depicted in Attachment 1. The replacement roofing system shall be a Kynar coated 26 gauge Galvalume metal panel system conforming to the attached specifications (see Attachment 3- Project Specifications) for a complete, weathertight installation. The contractor shall remove existing metal roof, translucent panels, and insulation down to the deck. Newly installed roofing shall be metal; translucent panels shall not be replaced. Contractor shall replace insulation with NAIMA 202-96 (Rev 2000) certified fiberglass metal building insulation to a combined value of R-30. The removed vent/screens shall not be replaced. Instead, contractor shall provide a standard ridge vent. New decking to match existing shall be provided to cover areas where translucent panels currently exist. The existing gutter and downspout system shall be replaced in-kind. The roof installation shall comply with all applicable local, state, and federal building codes. Permits shall not be required for this project.
