As of August 17, 2022, the project has been awarded. A timeline for construction has not been confirmed. The Scope of Work consists of construction of an asphalt shared use path connecting the FKOHT crosswalk (located at mile marker 20.7) to/from Drost Drive (located at mile marker 21), approximately 900 feet in length and includes maintenance of traffic during construction, maintaining environmental controls, clearing/grubbing, excavation, embankment, base construction, asphalt, crosswalk, detectable warnings, pavement markings, signage, sod and landscaping to conform to FDOT design and repair standards. The Prime CONTRACTOR must be prequalified in at least one major type of work regardless of the number of major types that are solicited. For any type of work that isn t met by the prime, the subcontractor must meet the prequalification requirement. The team must be pre-qualified in all types of work needed for the project. In response to Covid-19, the Monroe County Purchasing Department has implemented a new electronic process for reviewing and opening sealed bids.
