Site work and new construction of a mixed-use development in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Conceptual plans call for the construction of a 48,437-square-foot swimming pool; fitness / recreation center; and clubhouse / community center.
Plans call for a new recreation facility/Leisure centre within the Holmwood suburban area of Saskatoon. The facility is expected to include a 25m pool, a leisure pool, gymnasium, fitness spaces, weight room, multipurpose rooms/child minding spaces, and supporting accessible locker/change/washroom facilities. The building will be connected to the two new high schools in partnership with the public and catholic school boards. Site address to be confirmed. TIMELINE: Project is in early planning stages. Community engagement took place in spring 2024; a report has yet to be submitted to the city council for review. Further project details and schedules may be confirmed in 2025. ICIP funding has been approved in the amount of $40.5M. Total capital estimate $50 - $150 million.
