Castle Pines Metropolitan District (District) has determined that Crestone Way (between Hummingbird Drive and the round-a-bout at Elk Pointe Lane) requires improvements to increase safety and serviceability of the roadway in addition to replacement of the waterline located underneath the roadway. Initial planning and engineering have been undertaken, and preliminary concepts and specific improvements have been identified (See attached Exhibit #1 noted as 30% Construction Improvement Plans). Site survey control, Site Utility Engineering, and preliminary Geotechnical (borings) work is in process along the proposed alignment. The initial design and construction portion is planned to consist of the approximately 2,500 linear feet centerline length. Improvements to the roadway include widening of certain sections of roadway, curb/gutter improvements, driveway cut improvements, associated storm sewer improvements, resurfacing of the entire width of the pavement, and replacement of the waterline located under the street section. Utilizing trenchless methodologies for replacement of the waterline may be preferred to traditional "cut and cover" methodologies due to accessibility and other negative impacts to the neighborhood. The District anticipates successfully working with the selected CMaR Contractor (Contractor) on this Crestone Way Project, during preconstruction and construction phases.
