Site work and outdoor lighting for a mixed-use development in Fredericksburg, Virginia. Completed plans call for site work for a educational facility; for outdoor lighting for a educational facility; playground / park / athletic field; and playground / park / athletic field.

Spotsylvania County Public Schools (herein referred to as "SBCS", "Owner") is seeking bids from qualified Contractors ("Contractor") to provide all materials, equipment, labor and installation for Athletic Lighting at Chancellor High School Softball Field. The successful Contractor shall perform all construction activities and provide all construction management, necessary tools, equipment, materials, fuel, required insurance, personnel and supervision, to complete to Project as described herein. The successful Contractor shall fulfill the obligations of any contract resulting from this IFB, at the direction of SBCS and follow accordingly, all federal, state and laws/regulations. SBCS is requesting Bids from Offerors to provide the most practical, time effective and cost efficient solution to replace the softball field lights at Chancellor High School. The description of services shall establish minimum requirements and expectations. Spotsylvania County Public Schools intends to award to one Contractor submitting the lowest total base bid but expressly reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any informality or irregularity in the bids received, and to award a bid to be in the best interests of Spotsylvania County Public Schools. All inquiries for information should be directed to Brian Wells at Moseley Architects, email: bwells@moseleyarchitects.com Work Location: Chancellor High School, 6300 Harrison Road Fredericksburg, VA 22407 PROJECT REQUIREMENTS All work shall be in accordance with the plans and specifications which are contained in the attached project documents and drawings for Athletic Lighting at Chancellor High School Softball Field, provided by Moseley Architects A. Work covered by this section of the specifications shall conform to the contract documents, engineering plans as well as state and local codes. B. The purpose of these specifications is to define the lighting system performance and design standards for Softball field using an LED Lighting source. The manufacturer / contractor shall supply lighting equipment to meet or exceed the standards set forth in these specifications. C. The sports lighting will be for the following venues: 1. Softball Field D. The primary goals of this sports lighting project are: 1. Guaranteed Light Levels: Selection of appropriate light levels impact the safety of the players and the enjoyment of spectators. Therefore light levels are guaranteed to not drop below specified target values for a period of 25 years. 2. Environmental Light Control: It is the primary goal of this project to minimize spill light to adjoining properties and glare to the players, spectators and neighbors. 3. Cost of Ownership: In order to reduce the operating budget, the preferred lighting system shall be energy efficient and cost effective to operate. All maintenance costs shall be eliminated for the duration of the warranty. 4. Control and Monitoring: To allow for optimized use of labor resources and avoid unneeded operation of the facility, customer requires a remote on/off control system for the lighting system. Fields should be proactively monitored to detect luminaire outages over a 25-year life cycle. All communication and monitoring costs for 25-year period shall be included in the bid. SCOPE OF WORK SBCS is requesting Bids from Offerors to provide the most practical, time effective and costefficient solution to replace the softball field lights at Chancellor High School. The description of services shall establish minimum requirements and expectations. Spotsylvania County Public Schools intends to award to one Contractor submitting the lowest total base bid but expressly reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any informality or irregularity in the bids received, and to award a bid to be in the best interests of Spotsylvania County Public Schools. Bids shall be based on the drawings and specifications provided by Moseley Architects SBCS will accept proposals from all Contractors qualified under the requirements and terms of the enclosed documents.
