Bonding: The NPS anticipates bid, performance and payment bonds will be required Project Description: Project Conditions: The project is located at Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park, CO. The construction magnitude is between $5M - $10M. The surrounding area is rural with limited staging located within the project limits (pullouts, park laydown areas, limited areas of the construction zone). Note any unique material delivery requirements. The location is somewhat remote with long hauls for materials. The construction site is 15 miles from nearest suppliers and lodging facilities in Montrose, Colorado. The Park will remain open during construction, thus contract activities and logistics must be structured and scheduled to minimize visitor impact. The site requires protective measures to ensure the surrounding area remains undisturbed. The structure is a historic/natural/cultural resource. The anticipated period of performance of 235 calendar days including any potential weather shutdown. There is a likely winter shutdown mandated through the construction season. Winter construction may be required. Project Scope: The work will consist of pavement management and rehabilitation of roads and parking areas within Black Canyon of the Gunnison NP. This work includes but is not limited to, pavement milling and removal, full depth replacement (FDR) of asphalt, full and partial depth repairs, asphalt construction, addition of a new by-pass lane at the fee station, crack seal, fog seal, ultra-thin overlay, shoulder stabilization, curbing, pavement markings, gate replacement, cattle guard replacement, MUTCD sign installation, concrete placement, and construction and repair of drainage features and structures.
