Demolition, site work, paving and new construction of a bridge / tunnel in Ridgedale, Saskatchewan. Conceptual plans call for the demolition of a bridge / tunnel; for the construction of a bridge / tunnel; for site work for a bridge / tunnel; and for paving for a bridge / tunnel.
The major items of work for this tender include: Demolition and disposal of an existing single span timber bridge with timber deck including removal of piles to 1.5 m below grade. The timber stringers shall be salvaged and turned over to the Owner; Installation of a lockblock bearing wall founded on glacial till with a precast girder superstructure or portable steel bridge (Alternate Price #1); Excavation and backfill as required for construction of the abutments. Embankment regrading and erosion control including rip-rap, seeding, and erosion protection blankets; Fabrication and installation of bridge rails and approach rails; Redirecting of the creek on the east side of the bridge and filling in the old; and Roadwork to improve and re-grade the road approaches and ditches on either side of the creek. TIMELINE: The project was not awarded due to the tender being significantly over budget. Future of project undetermined at this time. Project may be updated when it has been approved to bid for construction. Coverage is discontinued at this time.
