Renovation of a mixed-use development in Newton, Iowa. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 1,500-square-foot municipal facility.
The general scope of Work includes, but is not limited to; renovations of approximately 1,500 square feet of existing office space within the Jasper County Courthouse. Scope includes selective demolition, existing plaster wall opening modifications, doors and trim, hardwood casework, and _ electrical modifications. The project also includes coordination with Owner's contractors for furnishings, floor finishes and painting. The Owner's intent is to hold a contract with a single General Contractor. Bids shall be on a stipulated sum basis; segregated bids will not be accepted. Subcontractors for major trades shall be named by the General Contractors on the official bid form. Bidders are requested to propose dates for project mobilization and project completion on their bid. A certified check drawn upon a solvent bank or bid bond executed by corporations authorized to contract as surety in lowa, and submitted on AIA Document A310 - Bid Bond, in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total bid and made payable to "JASPER COUNTY", shall be filed with each bidder's proposal as a guarantee that the accepted bidder shall enter into a contract with Jasper County and file an approved surety company Performance and Payment Bond for the faithful performance thereof. Upon failure to comply, said check or bid bond shall become forfeited as liquidated damages. Deposit will be refunded to bidders upon return of their complete set of Bidding Documents, including any addenda, properly bound and in good condition to Beeline and Blue within 14 calendar days after opening of bids. Cash deposits will not be accepted.
