Prevailing wage rates apply to this project. All questions/requests for information regarding this Invitation to Bid must be submitted via email to contracts@newark.de.us by 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 11, 2024 to allow staff sufficient time to develop answers to questions deemed appropriate. Please submit all questions/requests for information in bulk (e.g., in a Word document attachment to an email) to limit the total number of emails received. The Newark Historic Train Station Repairs project includes, but is not limited to, selective demolition; selective abatement of hazardous materials; replacement of all windows and the repair/rehabilitation of associated window sills and trim; removal of asphalt roof shingles, selective replacement of roof deck, and installation of new asphalt roofing system; new rainwater conductors (gutters and downspouts); selective repair of structural and decorative roof brackets; selective repair of structural pent roof framing; selective interior plaster restoration; painting; and window shades as shown on the attached drawings. Each bid must be accompanied by a certified check, cashier's check, or bid bond in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the proposed bid price, payable to the City of Newark. Failure to provide the required bid security may be grounds for rejection of the bid. The successful bidder shall provide the City with a Performance Bond and Payment Bond in the full amount of the contract guaranteeing faithful performance of the contract. S
