As of June 21, 2022, project was awarded to Narragansett Improvements Co., awarded amount is $34,986.57. The work defined in this ITB consists of stormwater drainage improvements at Wauwinnet Ave located within the Town of Westerly, Rhode Island. A description of the location and the scope of work for the proposed drainage improvements is provided below. Wauwinnet Ave is located in a residential area in the Watch Hill section of Westerly. A localized, low-lying area of the road adjacent to the property at 9 Westerly Rd becomes flooded during precipitation events. The proposed stormwater improvements intend to collect the stormwater that accumulates in the area prone to flooding and discharge the water to a drywell for infiltration. The proposed stormwater drainage improvements consist of installation of one drop inlet, one catch basin, approximately 25 linear feet of 12-inch double-wall high density polyethylene (HDPE) pipe, and one (6-ft diameter by 4.5-ft high) precast concrete drywell surrounded by 2"-3" washed stone and filter fabric, backfilling with gravel borrow and restoration of disturbed asphalt and landscaped areas. Reclaimed on-site subsurface materials may be reused as gravel borrow pending compliance with the Contract Documents and with approval from the Town Engineer. The Contractor shall be responsible for removal and legal disposal of any excess or unsuitable soils generated during the project. All trenches shall be backfilled and/or covered and secured at the end of each day's work and prior to weekends. Temporary stockpiling of soil within the Town's right-of-way is not permissible unless approved by the Town Engineer. Temporary asphalt patching shall consist of 3-inches of compacted Class 9.5 hot-mixed asphalt (HMA), and shall be placed prior to each weekend, at a minimum. Loam and seed shall be applied to any areas of disturbed surficial soils. The drawings included with this ITB depict the locations of all improvements and drainage pipe invert information. For any discrepancies or conflicting information provided within the ITB documents, the Bidder/Contractor shall defer to the judgement of the Town Engineer. The Contractor will be required to include all incidental costs associated with general conditions, bond costs, insurance costs, administrative costs, permit fees, mobilization, maintenance and protection of traffic, identification and protection of existing utilities, identification of project limits, traffic signage, drums, barrels, cones, earth and trench excavation, furnishment and placement of bedding and backfill materials (aggregates), off-site disposal of construction debris and any surplus materials, dewatering (if necessary), compaction, as required by regulation or code or as directed by the Engineer; within the unit prices submitted as part of the general bid within the accompanying Bid Form.
