The improvements generally consist of the following: 33,448 CY of Channel Bank Repair; 6.5 AC of Seeding; and other items incidental thereto. Be advised there is no bridge over Willow Creek on 291 st Street; approach the channel from the west and park along the south shoulder of the road. In the event of inclimate weather, all plan holders will be advised of alternative date, time, or location of the site showing. Each proposal shall be made on a form furnished by the Board and shall be accompanied by a bid security in the form of a deposit of cash, a certified check on and certified by a bank in Iowa, a certified share draft drawn on a credit union in Iowa, or a bid bond with corporate surety satisfactory to and on a form furnished by the Board; bid bonds on any other form will not be accepted and the bids they secure will not be opened. The bid security must be payable to the Harrison County Auditor on the Auditor's order at the Auditor's office in a sum equal to five percent of the amount of the bid. All bid bonds must be executed by a corporation authorized to contract as a surety in Iowa. The bid security shall be filed in an envelope separate from the one containing the proposal, and may be cashed by the Board as liquidated damages in the event the successful bidder fails to enter into a contract within 14 days of award and post bond satisfactory to the Board insuring the faithful fulfillment of the contract as required by law and the specifications. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a bond in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price, said bond to be issued by a responsible surety approved by the Board and shall guarantee the faithful performance of the contract and terms and conditions therein contained, shall guarantee the prompt payment for all materials and labor and protect and save harmless the H&P Drainage District from claims and damages of any kind caused by the operations of the Contractor. The Board hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively insure that in any contract entered pursuant to this advertisement, minority business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, or national origin in consideration for an award. The Late Start Date for this project is July 25, 2022. The Board reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive informalities.
