Renovation of a mixed-use development in Lihue, Hawaii. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
Heating, Air Conditioning, and Ventilation Maintenance and Repair Services (Including Installation) Fountain/Bottle Filler Electric Cooler Units as per scope of work Project is tentatively scheduled to commence upon award of contract and must be completed by July 18, 2022. All work shall be per manufacturer's specifications and recommendations, and shall be performed to industry standards. The Contractor shall comply with all current local, State, and National ordinances and applicable uniform building code including UBC and N.E.C.. Any additional work requested by school officials, discrepancies or unforeseen conditions, the Contractor shall contact and inform the Project Coordinator. Any project cost changes must be approved by the Project Coordinator. General Requirements The Contractor shall ensure adequate safety precautions to protect the surrounding structures, school personnel, and the public by providing temporary and maintaining high visibility barriers or signs for safety. Contractor shall protect work from any unforeseen inclement weather and is responsible for any subsequent damages related to the work. Any damage to existing wall, utilities and surrounding areas in close proximity of project during the installation shall be repaired by the Contractor to the satisfaction of school and at no cost to the State of Hawaii and the Department of Education. Rubbish and debris resulting from this project shall be removed daily to a legal disposal area outside from the school campus. Contractor shall comply with all applicable laws, ordinances, and codes of the federal, state, and local governments to properly dispose of all construction debris (including fountain/bottle filler electric cooler equipment). Smoking or use of tobacco products is prohibited anywhere on schoolproperty. In addition, all workers shall dress and conduct themselves properly at all times. COVID-19 precautions such as contractor attestation, mask wearing, wellness checks, and social distancing are required. HRS Chapter 104, Wages and Hours of Employees, applies to every public works construction project over $2,000, regardless of the method of procurement or financing (purchase order, voucher, bid, contract, lease arrangement, warranty). A certified copy of all payrolls shall be submitted weekly to the Project Coordinator. Contractor shall submit nameplate pictures of fountain/bottle filler electric cooler with information of installed locations. Along with the manufacturer's standard warranty, a one (1) year written Contractor warranty on all new work (workmanship and materials) shall be provided to the School and shall be submitted with a project invoice requesting payment upon completion of the job. To be eligible to submit a bid, the bidder must possess a valid State of Hawaii contractor's license classification B or C-52. Working hours shall be 7:00 am thru 3:30 pm Monday thru Friday unless otherwise instructed by school officials. No weekend and State holiday work shall be permitted. A pre-con meeting shall be held no less than 2 weeks prior to starting construction. The contractor should coordinate this with each school individually. The Contractor shall verify all existing surface conditions and existing electrical panels for proper installation and operating of new fountain/bottle filler electric cooler units, prior to starting work. This Solicitation is for procurement as set forth in Section 103D, Hawaii Revised Statutes (HRS), Chapter 3-122, Hawaii Administrative Rules (HAR) and Act 175, SLH 2009. Contractor shall at all times observe and comply with all provisions of Chapter 104, HRS, regarding Wages and Hours of Employees on Public Works Law. A performance bond is required for all projects $50,000 and above.
