Demolition, site work, paving and new construction of a bridge / tunnel in Swanquarter, North Carolina. Conceptual plans call for the demolition of a bridge / tunnel; for the construction of a bridge / tunnel; for site work for a bridge / tunnel; and for paving for a bridge / tunnel.
Plans call to design of a replacement bridge on WRC's Gull Rock Game Land in Hyde County. The existing bridge carrying a WRC game land roadway over the Outfall Canal on the Gull Rock Game Land is in disrepair and in need of replacement. The existing bridge is a nine-span timber structure approximately 16' wide by 100' long. WRC would like to replace the timber structure with a concrete structure of the same approximate length and width. Approach roadways are unpaved and limited approach roadway work is anticipated. Selection will be made based on the 10 "Selecting Criteria" listed below. A proposal that outlines these 10 criteria is easier to review. Project Location: Adjacent to Outfall Canal Road Gull Rock Game Land Hyde County Latitude: 35.3741 Longitude: -76.1194. As of March 8, 2024, a timeline to execute the contract with design firm has not been released. Further details regarding construction and completion timeline have not been determined. A tentative bid schedule for contractors has not been established.
