These funds will be used for the fifth phase of a multiple phase project that will replace obsolete and failing building infrastructure and update Muntz Hall's interiors. This phase will include renovation of the ground floor of the 1970's-era portion of the building to expand the campus' student advising operation, enclosure of an outdoor courtyard to create student study and collaboration space, and updating the building's largest classroom. If funds remain available, one of the building's most heavily used restrooms will also be updated. Further scope includes new mechanical, electrical, plumbing, lighting, furnishings, windows, and instructional technology in renovated areas. The cost for Phase 5 totals approximately $6.5 million, including $5.5 million from the state and $1.0 million from local sources. S.B. 310 provided $2.4 million for the fourth phase of the project, H.B. 529 provided $12.4 million for the second and third phases, and S.B. 310 provided $5.2 million for the first. This project is in included in the Legislative Service Commission, Inc. FY 2023-2024 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP).
