Information regarding a future proposal has not been determined. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: The City of Newton invites developers to submit written proposals to develop 12.42 acres of land owned by the City of Newton and located on (and in-between) NC10 and NC16Business into an industrial, flex space, commercial, or similar destination, however other options made be submitted and reviewed by the City. The property is vacant and The City Council is interested in obtaining development proposals for the property that will provide economic development opportunities and needed service to the community, increase the City's tax base, and provide employment for our area residents. The City has identified preferred use for the site which includes an industrial or commercial facility, however similar uses that provide a commercial revenue producing economic development opportunities will be considered. The land can be developed for this specific use and potentially include mixed-use development plan. Any use must conform to the permitted uses within the B-4 General Business District zoning district. Questions due: June 17, 2022 Final questions answered: June 24, 2022 Recommendation for interviews to City Council: July 12, 2022 Interviews selection committee: July 14 - 21, 2022 Newton City Council considers award: August 2, 2022 Any questions a responder might have regarding the land or building, please submit in writing by email to Mr. Williams by June 17, 2022. Staff will respond in writing according by June 24, 2022 and will be posted on the Citys website under the RFP heading. The City of Newton City Council reserves the right to reject all proposals. The method of contractor selection has not been determined at this time
