Renovation of a water / sewer project in Wharton, Texas. Completed plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project.

The work includes, but is not limited to, demolition of the existing catenary screen and associated metal platform, screenings discharge chute, controls, and miscellaneous electrical; furnish and install one (1) catenary screen and fabricated screenings slide and associated electrical equipment, conduit, wire, and instrumentation, remove and replace slide gate; channel grating and railing improvements; expansion of the existing autodialer; and all else shown on the construction drawings and contract documents necessary to construct, complete tie-in, and make for a complete and operational system; restore site grading to original or better conditions, and seeding all areas within the plant site and all other adjacent areas disturbed during this construction. A bid bond in the amount of 5 percent of the bid issued by an acceptable surety shall be submitted with each bid for those contracts that exceed $100,000. A certified check or bank draft payable to the City of Wharton or negotiable U.S. Government Bonds (as par value) may be submitted in lieu of the Bid Bond. Attention is called to the fact that not less than, the federally determined prevailing (Davis-Bacon and Related Acts) wage rate, as associated with the ARPA-CLFRF and contained in the contract documents, must be paid on this project. In addition, the successful bidder must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of race, color, religion, sex, sexual identity, gender identity, or national origin. It is required that contractors who wish to bid on this project are enrolled in SAM.gov (System for Award Management). A contractor must have an active registration to participate in projects that utilize federally funded dollars. Once registered, the contractor will receive a Unique Identification Number (UIN). This is replacing the commonly used DUNS number. The City of Wharton reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any informalities in the bidding. Bids may be held by the City of Wharton for a period not to exceed 60 days from the date of the bid opening for the purpose of reviewing the bids and investigating the bidder's qualifications prior to the contract award.
