**As of July 1, 2022, the bid date is changed to July 10, 2022 4:00 PM EST.** The Burlington Housing Authority (BHA) is inviting contractors to submit bids for the following project. Briefly and without force and effect upon the contract documents, the work of the contract can be summarized as follows: Contractor shall provide all labor and materials to perform all work listed below: Summary Repair/replace corroded portions of metal handrail post bases where indicated, damaged sections of post as needed; 63 total. New post bases and other repair materials should be primed and painted with Zinsser Metal Primer DTM with Industrial Strength Rust Inhibiitor and Rust Oleum HighPerformance Protective Enamel exterior grade paint prior to installation. BHA approved equivalents may be accepted. Attach repaired posts to concrete with BHA approved concrete fasteners Replace and install missing sections of metal handrail as indicated in attached pictures, 3 total. New handrails to match existing and dimensions shall be in compliance with all applicable codes and regulations. One year from date of project completion Contractor is responsible for ensuring construction practices and areas under construction comply with all applicable codes and are controlled to ensure the safety of the occupants. All construction debris and trash must be removed from premises at the end of each day. All common areas should be clean and free of trash, debris, and construction materials. Contractor to carry liability insurance with a limit of $1,000,000 per occurrence with a general aggregate of $2,000,000. BHA along with the property must be named as additional insured. Contractor shall protect all common areas and equipment from damage during the project. No Proposal shall be withdrawn for a period of Thirty (30) days subsequent to the opening of bids without consent of the BURLINGTON HOUSING AUTHORITY.
