Each bidder is required to furnish with its proposal, a Bid Guaranty and Contract Bond in accordance with Section 153.54 of the Ohio Revised Code. Bid security furnished in Bond form shall be issued by a Surety Company of Corporation licensed in the State of Ohio to provide said surety. Additionally, contractor compliance with the equal employment opportunity requirements of Ohio Administrative Code Chapter 123, the Governors Executive Order of 1972, and the Governor's Executive Order 84-9 shall be required. Bidders must comply with the prevailing wage rates on Public Improvements in Richland County and the City of Shelby, Ohio as determined by the Ohio Bureau of Employment Services, Wage and Hour Division, (614) 644-2239. Bids must be plainly marked 2022 PAVING PROJECT, PHASE 2. Partial progress payments will be made. The City cannot award a bid to a contractor if the bid is above the Engineers Estimate. The City of Shelby will entertain no bids of any person or firm in default to the City of Shelby, Ohio, and reserves the right to reject any and all bids. BID ITEM #1 PAVEMENT PLANNING- It is the intent of the City to create a better cross slope for the roads. The milling depth will be approximately 2 1/4" deep at the pavement edge (outside edge of the milling) and will taper to a 0 depth at the inside edge of the milling. There will be only one pass of the milling machine on each side of the road. The project quantity is based on a 7' milled surface adjacent to the gutter on each side and the City will not pay for a milled width in excess of this. This width may be reduced at the approval of the City and the payment quantity will be reduced accordingly.
