Project Description: This project is a voluntary seismic retrofit featuring the following scope of work: strengthening of the theater stage roof diaphragm; strengthening of the stage walls; bracing of the suspended control room; and bracing of the plaster ceilings. In addition, the project work scope includes reroofing above the theater stage and code required accessibility upgrades. Demolition will entail some hazardous material abatement. The Engineer's estimate for this project is $2,860,000. Bids are required for the entire work described herein. The Contractor shall possess a valid Class A or B Contractor's License at time of bid submittal. A Bid Bond in the amount of 10% of the total bid amount payable to the County of Marin shall accompany the Proposal. The provisions of California Public Contract Code 22300, regarding substitution of securities for monies withheld to ensure performance shall apply to this contract. This project is to be advertised pursuant to Public Contract Code 22037. Pursuant to Section 1773 of the California Labor Code, the general prevailing wage rates for Marin County where the work is to be done have been determined by the Director of the California Department of Industrial Relations. These wages are set forth in the General Prevailing Wage Rates for this project, available at the Department of Public Works.
