The renovation of the 1st Floor of wings B and D and select rooms in wings C & E encompasses removal and replacement of existing pneumatic controls with updated direct-digital-controls (DDC) and the addition of new DDC VAV boxes. Renovate VAV controls in Bldg. 200, 1st floor, wings B and D, and select rooms of wings C & E as detailed in the Statement of Work (SOW), specification, and drawing documents. PRINCIPAL NAICS CODE: 238220 - Plumbing, Heating, and Air-Conditioning Contractors PRODUCT/SERVICE CODE: Z2DA - Repair or Alteration of Hospitals and Infirmaries Project No. 621-22-144 PART A - GENERAL Introduction - The James H. Quillen VA Medical Center (JHQVAMC) has a requirement to renovate an estimated 59 Variable Air Volume (VAV) controls; add an estimated 1 VAV box without a reheat coil to the common return and replace the pneumatic controls with direct-digital controls (DDC) in C120A&B; and add an estimated 5 VAV boxes with reheat coils for rooms B119, B138, D119, E119, and E136 with DDC controls. An estimated 59 of the VAV boxes in B1 and D1 will have their pneumatic controls (thermostats, reheat valves, VAV controller, and pneumatic actuator) removed and air lines capped and replaced with DDC. These DDC include Computrols VAV controller, reheat valve with geared-electronic actuator, supply air temperature sensor, and a Computrol's room thermostat. New VAV boxes with reheat coils will be installed for an estimated 6 rooms (B119, B138, C120A&B, D119, E119 and E136). For C120A&B, a new Computrols VAV Controls, reheat valve with geared-electronic actuator, supply air temperature sensor, and a new Computrols room thermostat will be installed on the supply air to the rooms. A new VAV box without a reheat coil will be installed on the common exhaust air of room C120A&B to control the pressure in the rooms. These DDC will connect to the JHQVAMC's existing Computrols system. The end-state for this project is that all the HVAC-related system/infrastructure of VAV controls for building 200, 1st floor, wings B & D, and selected rooms on the 1st floor in wings C & E are fully digitally-controlled and electronically-managed under JHQVAMC's building automation system center. 1) Scope of Work: a) The controls contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, programming, and installation of the low voltage components (3 - 8LX controller, 66- VAV controllers, 65 - discharge air temperature sensors, 65 reheat valves and the 65 - MN-S3 room temperature sensors). This includes 1 VAV Controller for rooms C120A and C120B common return; 6 VAV controller, 6 reheat valve, 6 discharge air temperature sensor, and 6 room temperature sensors for the 5 new VAV box with reheat coil for room B119, B138, D119, E119, and E136, and 1 existing VAV supply box for rooms C120A&B; and 59 VAV controls for boxes with reheat coils in B1 and D1. The electrical contractor will pull 120Vac power to every VAV box (66). The controls contractor will wire the reheat valve actuator, installed by mechanical contractor, to the VAV controller. The controls contractor shall install, startup, checkout, Computrols integration and graphics on the Computrols system for the VAV Boxes in Bldg. 200's Wings B, C, D, and E for the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center. *The value for this project is based on a financial range.
