Renovation of a multi-residential development in Farmington, Connecticut. Design plans call for the renovation of a multi-residential development.
As of October 25, 2022, an architect has been selected and this project is in the design phase. Although a firm timeline for construction has not been determined, construction is not expected to start prior to June 2023. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: The 1928 Building Committee intends to utilize the firm selected from this Request for Proposal for schematic architectural, design and related engineering and cost estimating services for the renovations of a portion(s) of the existing high school facility to municipal office space/community use. The services provided by the selected firm will be used for referendum purposes. The successful firm must have demonstrated extensive experience in the conversion of old educational facilities into office/municipal space. Qualified firms are required to submit their Proposal in accordance with the solicitation package requirements. The firm must meet all municipal, state and federal affirmative action and equal employment opportunity practices. One original, twelve (12) copies, and one electronic copy (Adobe PDF) of the proposal must be submitted to the Town Manager's Office by the deadline. All questions or comments regarding this solicitation package must be submitted to Kathryn Krajewski, Assistant Town Manager, via email at krajewskik@farmington-ct.org by 4:30 P.M. on Wednesday, June 22, 2022. The tentative high-level timeline for the completion of designs/cost estimates is as follows: Phase 1 June 2022 RFQs published July 2022 - August 2022 Architect/cost estimator selected. August 2022 - October 2022 Conceptual design and estimates completed November 2022 - December 2022 Options Options presented to Town Council for approval Phase 2 December 2022-April 2023 Schematic Design/Cost for referendum complete & communications plan initiated April 17, 2023 Town Meeting April 27, 2023 Referendum After review of all qualifications, the 1928 Building Committee reserves the right to reject any or all proposals, or any part thereof, or waive defects in same, or accept any proposal deemed to be in the best interest of the Town of Farmington.
