The classification of Contractor's license required in the performance of this Contract is a Class A or Class C-27 Landscaping Contractor . Pursuant to the prov i s i ons of Sect i on 1773 of the Labor Code of the State of Cal i fornia , the City has obtained the general prevailing rate of per diem wages and the general prevailing rate for holiday and overtime work in this locality for each craft, classification or type of workman needed to execute the Contract from the Director of the Department of Industrial Relations . Copies may be obtained from the California Department of Industrial Relations website. The successful bidder shall be required to furnish a Labor and Materials Bond and a Faithful Performance Bond in the amount of 100% of the amount of the Contract. Pursuant to Section 22300 of the Public Contract Code of the State of California, the Contract will contain provisions permitting the successful bidder to substitute securities for any monies withheld by the City of Montclair to ensure performance under the Contract. The work to be completed consists of furnishing all materials, equipment, tools, labor, and incidentals as required by the Plans , Specifications, and Contract Documents for the above stated project. The general items of work to be performed hereunder consist of : Securing the work site, providing erosion/NPDES & dust control compliance, traffic/pedestrian safety measures and maintaining operational access to and from the Fire Station and Public Works Yard, killing of all vegetation, removal and disposal of 3-inches of native soil material, grading the site to drain, and the installation of crushed decorative rock, weed barrier, grouted rock boarder and concrete header, rock cobble garden, large and medium sized decorative boulders, automatic drip irrigation system and miscellaneous electrical lighting work, decomposed granite (no binder) in planting areas and drought tolerant plants as required by the plans, Standard Specifications, and the Special Provisions. The Engineer's estimate for the proposed project is $18,795. The City Council reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to delete portions of the work, or to waive any defect or informality in any bid received.
