Renovation of a stadium in Dubuque, Iowa. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a stadium.
This project provides for the purchase of a new concert stage, skirting, and step units for Five Flags Arena. In 2026 the arena concert stage will be over 26 years old and approaching the end of its life. Over 30 decks are damaged. As time goes on concerts get larger and weigh more as equipment on stage is increased and the total weight load on the stage gets heavier. Stages must be able to handle heavier point loads, be easier to move, lighter and stronger than before. This will assist Five Flags to draw concerts and other entertainment to the area thus increasing revenue. This project is in included in the City of Dubuque FY 2023-2028 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP). As of June 15, 2022, further details regarding design and construction have not been identified. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
