This is a service / maintenance or supply contract in Putney, Vermont. Contact the soliciting agency for additional information.

The Town of Putney is asking for proposals from consulting firms to assist in determining the causes of, and suggesting possible solutions to, various problems in Sacketts Brook and its wetland in the area mapped by the Vermont Agency of Natural Resources as the Sacketts Brook Class 2 Wetland. The Town of Putney, with funds raised by its Conservation Commission and Water Fund, purchased 26 acres of the approximately 100-acre wetland in April 2012 for the purposes of: 1. Flood protection: During Tropical Storm Irene, Sacketts Brook was attached to its wetland flood plain, protecting the Town from flooding. 2. Assuring an adequate, clean water supply for the Town's Water System: The east side of the wetland is a major part of the Town well's Source Protection Area. 3. Protecting wetland wildlife habitat: The Sacketts Brook wetland complex is used by 120 bird species, 18 of which are Vermont Species of Greatest Conservation Need; by at least 26 mammal species; and by at least 10 species of reptiles and amphibians, two of which are designated as high priority SGCN. The Sand Hill Wetland (called that because Sand Hill Road runs through it) is a wildlife viewing destination for both residents and visitors. The Putney Select board appointed the Putney Conservation Commission (PCC) as managers of the Wilson Wetland. The PCC set up the Wilson Wetland Stewardship Committee to carry out this task. The town received a Flood Resilient Communities Fund grant to assess the Sackett's Brook and the Sand Hill Wetland. Administrators of this grant are: Ann Kerrey, Chair of the PCC and WWSC member and Jane Kolias, WWSC member. All questions regarding this RFP must be emailed by June 27, 2022 to Ann Kerrey and Jane Kolias at akerrey@yahoo.com & juliet_kilo@msn.com. Questions and responses will be posted on the Town of Putney as they are received and no later than June 30, 2022. Consultant Selection: July 13, 2022 Select board meeting Project End: 10/31/2023 The town of Putney reserves the right to seek clarification of any proposal submitted and to select the consultant that is best able to address the project purpose and to reject any and all proposals. The Town of Putney reserves the right to withdraw this Request for Proposals, to accept or reject any or all proposals, to advertise for new proposals if it is in the best interest of the town to do so, and to award a contract as deemed to be in the best interest of the Town of Putney.
