Request Category Code: Water Resources Infrastructure, Drainage, Dredging, Ditches, Canals, Culverts, Waterways, Stormwater Channels Description: The Pammel Creek Flood Control Canal is an approximately 2.3-mile-long concrete storm water drainage structure designed and built under the direction of the US Corp of Engineers from the mid 1980's to early 1990's. Since completion of the structure the City has had maintenance responsibilities for the structure. The City and Corp of Engineer personnel have done collaborative inspections at regular intervals and worked together on developing details for joint repairs in the structure floor. A recent event approached overtopping the existing structure. Previous joint repairs have not been effective and additional joint failures are continuing to occur. Deepening the channel is an option to increase capacity.
