The Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit District (SMART) is a government transit agency that owns and operates passenger rail service and freight rail operations in Sonoma, Marin, and Napa Counties within the State of California. SMART is seeking Proposals from qualified firms to assist with railroad bridge inspections, bridge ratings, audits, and inspection reports to maintain compliance with the Department of Transportation's 49 CFR Parts 213 and 237 Bridge safety standards; final rule. The awarded firm shall act as SMART's Railroad Bridge Engineer and Railroad Bridge Inspector as defined in 49 CFR 237.51-57 Subpart C - Qualifications and Designations of Responsible Parties. Additionally, the selected firm shall provide as-needed bridge and rail engineering design and/or planning related services. This contract has a 3-year initial term with two (2) one-year options to extend thereafter. Work issued under this agreement may be funded using Federal, State, or Local Funds.
