Construction of a new pavilion housing education laboratories and education premises of small animals for the veterinary medicine faculty of the university. The project will consolidate the Animal Care Centre and the Animal Shelter into a single integrated facility to optimize resources and promote greater coherence between the facilities. This improvement will notably increase student capacity on the Saint-Hyacinthe campus, in response to the growing student population resulting from the off-campus veterinary medicine program offered in Rimouski. TIMELINE: Preliminary studies and conceptual design are underway. The Ministry of Education du Quebec announced the launch of the development of the business case, a key step before the project is implemented .The project is included in the list of major projects of the Quebec Treasury Board Secretariat under the number 952 with a status "in design". Project scope, value and timelines of the project development are being finalized. Further update in early 2027.
