Tentative Award Approximately 10/5/2022 Contract Start Date Approximately 12/12/2022 Substantial Completion February 1, 2024 Physical Project Completion February 15, 2024 Contract Period/Term: Approximately December 12, 2022 to December 11, 2024 The work of public art for which OPRHP is seeking proposals for is a sculpture of a large adult buffalo. The buffalo should be approximately 13''-0" tall and 18'-6" long. The buffalo will be installed (by the Project Team) on a raised plinth in the new Fountain Plaza section of the park. Desired special features of the design include some highly polished/reflective elements on a silicon bronze or 316 stainless (marine grade) surface and a stately appearance. Artists should design a work that is bold and unique and celebrates the City of Buffalo. The buffalo must be recognizable as the animal that populated the plains of Western New York. The selected Contractor will work with OPRHP's on-call landscape architecture consultant to design the plinth upon which the buffalo sculpture will be installed. OPRHP will be responsible for the construction of the plinth and preparation of the site prior to the installation of the work. Again, the Project Team will be responsible for installing (rigging and craning as needed) the buffalo on the plinth.
