Written Questions Deadline July 12, 2022 Written Answers Provided July 19, 2022 State of Alabama law requires that, where necessary, a cashier's check or bid bond payable to the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's Department in an amount not less than five (5%) percent of the amount of the bid, but in no event more than $10,000, must accompany the bidder's proposal. Performance and Payment Bonds and evidence of insurance required in the bid documents will be required at the signing of the Contract. A performance bond in the amount of 100% of the base bid and a payment bond in the amount of 100% of the base bid will be required of the successful bidder. No bid shall be withdrawn for a period of thirty (30) days unless extended by mutual agreement, after the scheduled closing time for the receipt of the bids. Award shall be made to the lowest and most responsive and responsible bidder who conforms to the solicitation, and whose bid is considered to be the most advantageous to the county, price and other factors considered. Award of bid shall be in accordance with all applicable public procurement and purchasing laws and requests. Any award resulting from this bid will be made by written notification from the purchasing department in the form of an authorized purchase order signed by the Purchasing Director. The County reserves the right, in the best interest of Tuscaloosa County, Alabama, to reject any and all bids, to waive any minor informality or irregularity in a bid, make multiple vendor award based on the needs of the County, and to select the offer deemed most advantageous to the County.
