Site work and renovation of a mixed-use development in Kenner, Louisiana. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility; and for site work for a playground / park / athletic field.
Project No-61034, 202I-042 Principal Work Location: 201 Vintage Drive, Kenner, Louisiana 70065 Description of Basic Work: Includes site demolition work to remove an existing concrete basketball court and goals, existing light poles and site development to extend concrete walkway, installing new treated wood stairs/ramps, raised treated wood decks, aluminum canopies, and extend and connect to existing site utilities, as well as provide concrete foundations and coordination for the installation of two modular classroom buildings, furnished and installed by the Owners vendor. Bidding Documents will only be issued to Licensed General Contractors or their authorized representatives. No Bidding Documents will be issued later than 24 hours prior to the date and time set for the bid opening. Bids received in violation of LSA-R.S. 37:2163 (failure to provide contractors license number on the bid envelope) shall be marked Rejected and returned unopened to the bidder and shall not be read aloud. Each bid must be accompanied by certified check, cashiers check or bid bond made payable to Kenner Discovery Health Sciences Academy and acceptable to the Owner in the amount equal to five (5%) of the total amount bid, including all alternates, and payable without condition to the owner as guarantee that the bidder, if awarded the contract, will promptly execute a contract in accordance with his/her proposal and all terms and conditions of the contract documents. A bid bond shall comply with LSA-R.S. 38:2218(B) and 38:2219, as applicable. The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all Bids in accordance with the Public Bid Law, and to disregard all nonconforming, nonresponsive, unbalanced or conditional Bids. R.S. 38: 2212 (I), all prospective bidders shall be present at the beginning of the Mandatory pre-bid conference and shall remain in attendance for the duration of the conference. Any prospective bidder who fails to attend the conference or remain for the duration shall be prohibited from submitting a bid for the Project. Any person with disabilities requiring special accommodations must contact the Kenner Discovery Health Sciences Academy at (504) 233-4720 no later than seven (7) days prior to the Pre-Bid Conference and/or the bid opening. This project entails sitework demolition and modifications including: subsurface drainage installation, grading, plumbing and electrical systems, concrete foundation installation, aluminum canopies, elevated treated wood deck, step and ramp systems, required for the installation of Owner furnished 8 and 10 classroom modular units. 1. Perform all demolition work indicated on the Drawings or as otherwise required to accomplish the finished results indicated. The Contractor shall make all required tie-ins to the Owner's existing building systems and shall perform all necessary shut downs, testing, verifications and certifications. All work of this nature shall be fully coordinated with the Owner. 2. Where existing substrate is to remain (as in floors), remove existing finishes, adhesives and mechanical attachments down to substrate in order to provide acceptable substrate for application of new substrates, primers and finishes. 3. Execute all construction work indicated and otherwise required to achieve the results indicated. The Work is a complete package of work from demolition to final finishing. New construction shall be complete and finished, ready for the Owner's use. Upon Project completion all areas of construction shall be complete and ready for occupancy by designated users with no additional work by the Owner except for items of work specifically identified as being executed by the Owner or his agent. The Contractor shall do this work without unduly disturbing ongoing functions of the hospital and shall protect all areas of the site not included in the Work but in proximity of Work during the execution of this Contract.
