Handrail installation was recently completed along Briarcliff Road in front of Northlake Mall under RFQ 22- 3003771 for $38,350. Northlake Mall has now cleared additional frontage on Henderson Mill Road that has exposed additional steep slopes that require the installation of additional handrail. We are requesting Purchasing and Contracting assistance in procuring services for installation of additional handrail along Briarcliff Road in front of part of Northlake Mall. The following is the proposed scope of work: 1. Install 360 feet of pipe handrail per GDOT standard detail 9031R as noted on the attached location map. No substitutions will be allowed. The railing will end at the steps leading into the mall property. None of the handrail will be on a wall. Galvanized handrails are acceptable. Please note that mall management will clear all vegetation prior to installation. 2. The finish on all handrails shall be primed and painted black. 3. Prime and paint existing handrail black at both ends of the new handrail. 4. All joints shall be welded (GDOT) certified is not required). The handrail is to be installed between the sidewalk and the decorative street light posts. Care is to be taken to avoid damaging underground electrical lines for the decorative streetlights. 5.
