Renovation of an educational facility in Grand Junction, Colorado. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 1,300-square-foot educational facility.
Colorado Mesa University (CMU) is seeking proposals from qualified firms to re-envision what's possible in an underutilized corner of the University Center. The Point, a 1,300-sf space located near the northwest corner of the University Center and across the hall from Starbucks, is a student-centered space that provides space for students, faculty and staff to meet between classes, after class, in the evening, etc. to have a beer or glass of wine, watch a sporting event on the large t.v.'s, shoot a round of pool, or play an Xbox or PlayStation game with your buddy. CMU is interested in re-branding the space to an atmosphere that attracts all ages of students, faculty and staff. Creating an area on campus that will engage students and community members alike. The goal is to create a space that attracts the public users during slower student engagement times, and could be rented to the public for events.
