Rehabilitate approximately 7,677 linear feet of asphalt pavement in the City of Taylor Landing. A bid bond in the amount of 5 percent of the bid issued by an acceptable surety shall be submitted with each bid. A certified check or bank draft payable to the City of Taylor Landing or negotiable U.S. Government Bonds (at par value) may be submitted in lieu of the Bid Bond. Funding for this project is covered under Section 3 of the Housing and Urban Development Act of 1968. All eligible bidders must comply with Section 3 requirement in regards to meeting or exceeding the required objectives for both hiring and subcontracting. In accordance with these objectives, contractors are required to direct their newly created employment and/or subcontracting opportunities to Section 3 Residents and Business Concerns. Attention is called to the fact that not less than the federally determined prevailing (Davis-Bacon and Related Acts) wage rate, as issued by the Texas Department of Agriculture Office of Rural Affairs and contained in the contract documents, must be paid on this project. In addition, the successful bidder must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of race, color, religion, sex, sexual identity, gender identity, or national origin. Any contract or contracts awarded under this Invitation for Bids are expected to be funded by CDBG-DR Contract No. 20-065-151-C916 Questions will be received until July 6 at 5:00 PM local time. Questions submitted after this time & date will not be answered. The City of Taylor Landing reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any informalities in the bidding. Bids may be held by City of Taylor Landing for a period not to exceed 60 days from the date of the bid opening for the purpose of reviewing the bids and investigating the bidders qualifications prior to the contract award.
