Bike Path Assessment VoBG-2022-09 RFP for the Village of Buffalo Grove, Illinois RECEIPT OF RESPONSES PROJECT(S) OVERVIEW The Village is interested in contracting for Planning/ Engineering Services to study and assess condition and connectivity of all bike/shared use paths within the Village. This includes bike paths/facilities not owned or maintained by the Village. This will also include looking for and planning for connections to larger regional bike/shared use paths and developing and improving upon our existing network of facilities and pathways to provide better and safer bicycle and pedestrian commuting and recreational opportunities. A detailed overview of the project is available under the Scope of Services starting on page 9. The project overview provides a description of the needs of the Village of Buffalo Grove to understand the current condition and connectivity of the bike path network within the Village. This project is intended to provide Village officials and staff with a robust understanding of the needs of the current bicycle facility network and to appropriately plan for the future. Consultants may choose to submit individually on Scope of Services Part A, Part B, or Part A plus Part B combined. This is to allow for consultants specializing in one scope item the opportunity to compete for one scope item or team with another consultant. REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS PURPOSE The Village will utilize the results of this request for proposals to select a consultant who can help aid the Village with determining the current condition and connectivity of the Villages bike/share use path network as well as plan for future maintenance and connections through creative and innovative solutions. As projects are approved by the Village Board, Village staff will evaluate responses based on the project scope and RFP results in alignment with the process described herein. Consultants will be informed whether or not they have been selected.
