WESTERN PENNSYLVANIA Mackin Engineers & Consultants (MACKIN) has been contracted by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (Penn DOT) to perform safety inspections of various overhead sign structures located throughout Penn DOT Districts 1-0, 11-0, & 12-0 in western Pennsylvania. The inspections are scheduled to be performed at various times from July 2022 to June 2027. MACKIN will require services of a Contractor to provide inspection support services and maintenance & protection of traffic (MPT) on high traffic volume roadways during inspection. The Contractor must provide evidence of at least 10 years of experience in providing MPT services on Penn DOT projects of similar size and complexity for Penn DOT and references (including contact person and phone number) from previous projects. The Contractor must provide MPT in strict accordance with the current Penn DOT Publication 213 and make available the following equipment in good working order along with properly trained, competent, equipment operators. - One (1) 40' vertical reach articulating telescopic bucket truck. - One (1) or two (2) shadow vehicles as required per the current Publication 213 - One (1) equipment (tool) truck with flashing yellow beacon light - Various tools and equipment to perform bolt replacement on sign structures (required list of tools are provided with bid package) - Traffic control equipment and signs for traffic patterns on high-volume roadways for daylight and night inspections in accordance with the cur- rent Penn DOT Publication 213. Bids will be opened Thursday, July 7, 2022. MACKIN will award the contract to the lowest responsible bidder. MACKIN reserves the right to reject any or all bids deemed not in conformance with the bid requirements.
