Professional Structural Engineering Services are required to provide feasibility studies, investigations and reports, project estimates, designs, and construction documents and to perform construction administration for all types of Baltimore County Government-owned buildings and facilities. MBE Participation (%) 23.0 Professional Structural Engineering Services are required to provide feasibility studies, investigations and reports, project estimates, designs, and construction documents and to perform construction administration for all types of Baltimore County Government-owned buildings and facilities. Work to be performed under this contract is likely to include structural evaluation of county facilities, along with any needed design to address acute or chronic deficiencies. Facilities may include occupied buildings, accessory buildings, retaining walls, bulkheads, piers, and utility structures. Evaluations may be needed in parallel with intended renovation or construction work or in support of on-call construction and maintenance contractors; following identification of deterioration, including foundation evaluation; or in response to emergencies that may be human-made (e.g., vehicle impacts) or natural (e.g., fires, earthquakes, hurricanes). Scope of work may require materials testing and monitoring. For emergency situations, firms shall be capable of responding and providing personnel on-site within three hours of notification. Due to the nature of the assignments, it is not possible to estimate in detail the amount or frequency of work that will be needed. No work is being guaranteed under this contract. All design drawings will be required to be submitted as PDFs and in electronic format compatible with the latest version of Auto CADD. All design work will be required to be performed in accordance with the Baltimore County Design Manual. Also, Baltimore County Government has multiple sustainability goals and is working to address issues related to climate change; renovation and/or construction of county buildings and facilities is expected to support these goals and initiatives. In addition, certain on-call assignments may require Testing Agencies, Architects, Landscape Architects, and/or Civil, Geotechnical, Mechanical, and/or Electrical Engineers to support a specific task. Structural Engineering firms shall propose the utilization of sub-consultants prequalified with Baltimore County for these services should they not be available in-house. Firms should demonstrate knowledge of requirements and design elements needed for the types of buildings and facilities owned and operated by Baltimore County Government. Firms should also demonstrate experience with sustainability and evaluating the carbon impact of materials. Project examples provided within Section 8 of Standard Form 255 shall clearly identify the firm's involvement in the project and shall be recent (within the past six years). Project examples need to demonstrate the prime consultant's experience and involvement and should reference scope, schedules, costs, use of resources, and resolution of any challenges encountered. Experience for sub-consultants should be included in Section 10 of Standard Form 255, unless this is on a project where the prime consultant was also involv The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
